Purchased 3 small silk Diamond Shaped lanterns, each for a different part of the house...but when I temporarily hung all 3 on the dining room chandelier it was so beautiful that I "just had to" order 3 more to hang on the light fixture for parties.
ProsThe silk is so elegant and classy looking that I'm going to have to "up my Chinese cooking skills" for parties! I ended up painting the silver wire hanger (that extends above the top of the lantern) brown to blend into the light fixture. I needed help selecting battery lights for these lanterns, and Michelle in customer service was so helpful and patient explaining the lighting options.
ConsThe lanterns were boxed nicely but didn't come with instructions, but online videos helped me understand how to form the lantern...but I had a terrible time opening these silk lanterns even though I knew how to do it. I needed three hands to keep the wire hanger lined up with the slots and wasn't strong enough to lock wire into slots. When I tried to push lantern down on the floor, the tassel/finial underneath bent. The only way I am able to open the lantern without damaging it is to use both my hands and feet while sitting on the floor. Does anyone else struggle with this? Still not a deal breaker though! Their beauty is worth the struggle.
