It is a bit tricky, but once you figure out how to do it, it is very easy. I bought them for a lake project with the grandkids. I will assemble them, then let the kids - very lightly - paint them with water colors. I'm very excited to do this next week.

I have a long windowless hallway in my house, and these long lanterns are perfect for diffusing the light. They look very elegant too, one at each end of the hallway. They are sturdy and last a long time. They will tolerate careful brushing with a soft cloth if they get full of my grey cat's long hair. Brush them, and they look new again. These lanterns are the perfect accent to my house.
