We create these lanterns using a white nylon outer covering, which produces a reflective sheen not found on paper lanterns, as well as an internal wire support to maintain the even ribbing throughout usage. While this is a sturdier lantern than its paper counterparts, we recommend drying off of any water, to protect the internal metal components.
