These LEDs worked well for our intended use. Upside: you don't need an outlet. Downside: You have to turn on each light individually. Takes some time if you have 104 like we did, but it was worth it. The lights are nice and bright. If these had a clip that allowed you to clip them onto the metal lantern frame, I would give them 5 stars. Instead, you have to tie them in with the long loop. That takes a little longer than you'd think and was a little bit of a pain in the butt, though still easier than trying to use Christmas lights (which we had already tried and rejected when we bought these). Also, if you use these, be sure to tie them in as high in the lantern as you can. They light the lantern from the light bulb down, so placing them in the middle, which is the intuitive thing to do, makes it so only the bottom half of your lantern looks lit up. Tie it high, and the lantern is more fully illuminated. With the white plastic piece right up against the top of the wire frame is ideal.
