The brightness may depend on the time of day used. Each bulb on the strand will be approximately 5 watts. Thus, the light may be more decorative, unless there are multiple strands crossing and mood lighting is the preferred design. And will last however length of time they are plugged in. The bulbs will give off an approximate 5 watts per socket. If using 20 lanterns you may use 2 strands.
