Do I need to purchase the cord for these. Are they pretty without the lights?

Unfortunately due to the dimensions of the item the star lanterns will not work with our 10 socket, 25 socket, 50socket or commercial grade stringers. However if using our single socket cords you may certainly use that option: http://www.paperlanternstore.com/corkitforpap.html.
